A Bolder Blend Signals the Brand’s Evolution Within Davidoff’s Portfolio
Tampa, FL — Tampa Stogie Steve Smoke Report
Zino is entering a new phase with the introduction of Zino Honduras, a release that signals a deliberate evolution of the brand’s identity within Davidoff’s broader portfolio. Built on the momentum created by Zino Nicaragua, the newest addition expands the brand’s mission of welcoming new smokers into the premium cigar world—this time with a deeper, more dynamic flavor experience.
Where Zino Nicaragua focused on balance and everyday accessibility, Zino Honduras shifts gears toward a more robust and layered profile while maintaining the modern, approachable character that has defined the brand’s relaunch.
In a company press announcement, Javier González, SVP Head Global Marketing & Innovation at Oettinger Davidoff, emphasized the strategic intent behind the release:
“We are delighted to be launching Zino Honduras to meet the rising demand for more intense cigars. The high quality of these handmade cigars, combined with the enhanced flexibility and spontaneity offered through innovative packaging and cut options, truly sets this line apart and reflects what Zino Cigars stands for as a brand.”
Formats Built for Today’s Smoker
Zino Honduras will debut in three core vitolas designed to fit a range of smoking occasions:
Half Corona — 4 x 44
Robusto — 5 x 54
Toro — 6 x 50
Beyond traditional boxes, Davidoff is leaning into modern retail flexibility with multiple packaging formats, including tins, packs, and fresh packs. Notably, select fresh packs will feature pre-cut cigars, marking a first for Davidoff’s Zino line and reinforcing the brand’s focus on convenience and spontaneity.
Retailers will get their first hands-on look at Zino Honduras at Davidoff’s booth during the 2026 Premium Cigar Association (PCA26) Trade Show, taking place April 17–20, 2026, in New Orleans.
A Strategic Step for the Zino Brand
Since its relaunch, Zino has served as Davidoff’s gateway brand—positioned below ultra-premium offerings while still benefiting from the company’s blending discipline and production standards.
The introduction of Zino Honduras represents a natural progression. While Zino Nicaragua introduced consumers to the brand through an easygoing profile, the Honduras blend provides a step up in intensity, giving retailers another tool within the same recognizable family.
For PCA members and brick-and-mortar tobacconists, this expansion is less about adding a single SKU and more about building a progression ladder—allowing consumers to move from curiosity to connoisseurship without leaving the brand ecosystem.
Looking Ahead
With Zino Honduras, Davidoff continues refining its approach to the modern premium cigar consumer—balancing accessibility with progression and consistency with innovation.
As the portfolio grows, Zino is evolving from a single entry point into a spectrum of smoking experiences under one recognizable banner. For retailers seeking depth, flexibility, and a brand that meets smokers where they are today, Zino Honduras may represent the next logical step forward.
